Thanks for reading my innaugural post here at MediaSocializin. My intention for this blog is simple ... to find interesting nuggets relating to social media in some way - and throw in my 2 cents.
A little about me ...
Social Media has been apart of my life since the days of dial-up, when participating in online communities was foreign to most people - and had to be explained to even the most tech-savvy folks. Before there was Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn ... before companies used social media for customer support and sales communities ... before we couldn't leave home without our phones ... remember those days?
That's when I started in this business ... managing B2B and B2C communities for AARP, AT&T WorldNet, Sony and more! What did managing mean? It meant doing everything for a community, as companies didn't have marketing people dedicated to this medium.
Social Media didn't stop there ... just about the time I was getting into online communities, I was also busy meeting my wife online! Yes, thank you AOL! Ten years later we're still together - and so are my wife and I. :)
